The State Theatre Acting Company (STAC) was formed in 2015 with the mission to bring a high-level community theater production company to Auburn. The company is the performing arts arm of Auburn State Theatre. STAC’s first production was
The Music Man in 2016. Since then, STAC has brought the following productions to the stage:
Sister Act, Annie, Young Frankenstein, Mamma Mia!, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Game's Afoot
and
Shrek The Musical.
Sponsored by First Congregational Church of Auburn and Old Town Pizza
STAC brings the fun of old-time radio theatre to life with two special performances of the 1930s comedy “My Man Godfrey.” Set in the depths of the Great Depression, this satiric screwball comedy takes on upper-class foibles. Godfrey, a "forgotten man," is rescued from his packing-crate home by a ditzy socialite and offered a job as butler to her wealthy, eccentric family. Dignity wins the day as romance ensues and tables are turned.
Location— First Congregational Church: 710 Auburn Ravine Road in Auburn.
Complete Audition Information and schedule can be found here and on the STAC Facebook page.
Please Note: The casting call for Arsenic & Old Lace has been cancelled/postponed until the Auburn State Theatre has finished its current renovation.
STAC is proud to offer opportunities to perform, create and assist in live theatre for our community, whether as an actor, carpenter or back stage assistance or promotion.
Auditions for shows are typically announced via the
STAC Facebook page roughly eight weeks prior to all productions.
