STAC’s costumed, full-length production faithfully recreates the magic of radio theatre, complete with talented voice actors, live music and Foley sound effects.
Made into an Oscar-nominated 1936 film starring Carol Lombard and William Powell, “Godfrey” has endured all these years because it has a serious social theme anchoring a wacky screwball comedy: A job dignifies and provides purpose in life; without it you're a bum on the one hand or an empty socialite on the other.
“A class satire in a class of its own, My Man Godfrey's screwball comedy is as sharp as the social commentary is biting." - Rotten Tomatoes
