Great news! The truss repairs are complete and we passed inspection–YAY! We are now working with Auburn’s Norris Electric to dismantle lighting and speaker arrays above the stage and in the auditorium, in preparation for the next step in this journey. We are also working with Sira Contractors Corporation making seismic improvements for additional safety. Our General Contractor, Rod Tompkins of RJT Construction Inc. Consulting Services has been with us since day one and we are so grateful to Rod and his team for leading this enormous project.
For the inquiring minds that want to know, our beautiful Steinway Hamburg grand piano is safe! It has been protected throughout this process, and we will now move it to a climate-controlled storage facility while the stage and auditorium are being rebuilt.
We continue to show films at Auburn’s Odd Fellows Lodge #7 and hope you will join us at these events. Tell your friends and check our calendar below for all upcoming shows.
Our talented State Theatre Acting Company (STAC) will present Golden Age Radio Theatre at First Congregational Church of Auburn their final summer show on September 14th. These events are free to all and are held outdoors in the Church parking lot. Please bring your own chairs, food and drink. Should the weather be too hot, we will relocate into the Church hall to enjoy A/C.
Our new acoustic guitar series began August 18th at Auburn’s Odd Fellows Lodge #7, and featured top acoustic fingerstyle guitarists Teja Gerken and Doug Young! The show was a success and we look forward to having them back one day. “Flamenco in Concert!” with the Flamenco Society-Flamenco Group is the second concert in this series on September 15th. We are delighted to once again present live concerts for our community. Stay tuned for updates on this series.
We so appreciate our community’s support during this Restoration process, whether through time, resources, or monetary donations, your contributions are invaluable. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to bringing our hometown Theatre back to life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
