Auburn State Theatre Moves to Next Stage of Restoration

To our wonderful community, we miss you and hope to see you soon! As the year comes to a close, I am writing to you with heartfelt gratitude and an update on the progress of our beloved Auburn State Theatre Restoration Project. Your generous support in the past has played a crucial role in preserving the rich cultural heritage of our community, and we are reaching out to you once again as we embark on the next phase of this historic endeavor.

Over the past ten years, the State Theatre has stood as a symbol of artistic excellence, providing a stage for countless performances that have enriched the lives of our community members. However, the ravages of time have taken a toll on this cultural gem, and we are dedicated to ensuring its preservation for generations to come.

We are currently working to repair the trusses that span the width of the auditorium. This is a lengthy process utilizing a variety of materials requiring some manufacturing. The steel portion of the repairs will be done in sections, brought into the auditorium, and welded in place. We estimate that this will take two to three months to complete.

At 93 years old, the State Theatre stands as a testament to the enduring power of the performing arts. As we look back on the memories created within its walls, we also look forward to a future filled with new performances, educational programs, and community events. To make this vision a reality, we are seeking your support in the form of year-end tax-deductible donations.

Your donation will directly contribute to vital restoration efforts, ensuring the safety, accessibility, and aesthetic integrity of the State Theatre. From updating electrical systems to restoring architectural details, every dollar you contribute will make a lasting impact on the preservation of this historic landmark.

We understand that this time of year is filled with various financial commitments, and we appreciate your consideration of our cause. All donations made before December 31, 2023, are tax-deductible, providing you with the opportunity to support a meaningful cause while also benefiting from potential tax advantages.

Contributions can be made here on the website, by phone at 530-885-0156 or by mailing a check to Auburn State Theatre, PO Box 7733, Auburn, CA 95604.

Thank you for your continued support of the arts and your commitment to preserving the Auburn State Theatre. We are immensely grateful for your partnership in this important undertaking.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

Sincerely,

Colleen M. Carberry Sands
Executive Director
Auburn State Theatre
