Maxx Cabello Jr.

Bay Area local Maxx Cabello Jr. is known for his guitar chops, his soulful voice and mixing it up with a wide range of styles. He plays everything from slow soul jams, blazing electric blues and Latin rock. This powerful and captivating guitarist and prolific songwriter is turning heads and bending the ears of veteran musicians and diverse audiences of all ages.

Cabello grew up surrounded by music and photos of Maxx as a toddler, sleeping in his father’s guitar case, show he was destined to be a musician. “Dad plays folk-Spanish music,” Cabello said. “When him and my mom sing, it will make you cry. It’s that kind of deep, real traditional Spanish music.” But Cabello’s corazón led him to the blues. “What I love about the blues,” he said, “there’s no right or wrong way to do it. It’s in the delivery. If the people can feel it, then you are doing it right. I play from my heart.”

His shades of music are reminiscent of the most renowned guitarists of our time. In his work are the inspirations of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, and Maxx definitely adds his own artistry. His hard-driving playing is accomplished as well as energetic. He expresses his music with sensitivity and honesty giving him a very recognizable voice.

Maxx has been fortunate enough to open for greats such as Earth, Wind, and Fire; Tommy Castro; and Morris Day & The Time. Recently he opened for the popular alternative group Third Eye Blind. Cabello blew the crowd away and they responded with a standing ovation for his captivating performance.

Maxx has played all over the country as well as internationally. He has played many prestigious venues including BB Kings Blues Clubs in Hollywood and NYC, CBGB's, and the Oakland Raiders Half-Time Show.
